The firm is led by three directors, who combined have more than six decades’ experience in corporate communications, public affairs, marketing communications and journalism.

 

What’s in a name?

In the air force, fighter jets fly in a strategic formation that  allows pilots to cover their colleagues’ blind-spots. It protects them from attack and enables a strong  pursuit of the flight path, as well as precision with agreed tactics along the way.

When communicating in this formation, pilots play with clock face parlance, with 12 o’clock referring to vision straight-ahead and six o’clock immediately behind, which is a blind spot from the cock-pit.

Side-by-side, pilots keep an eye on six o’clock and give reassurance to each other with a colloquial “I’ve got your six”, which essentially means “I’ve got your back”.

Mitchell cut his teeth as a graduate working across regional, rural and agriculture clients a decade ago and has since served as a consultant in New South Wales and the United Kingdom.

With a nose for a good story, Mitchell has since worked with technology, consumer tech, automotive and consumer lifestyle brands, bringing to life campaigns and programs that resonate with media and consumers alike.

At Six O’Clock, Mitchell is responsible for content strategy, development and seeding across traditional and social media and communications and event management counsel.

 

Nathan Clarke

Senior Adviser

Nathan is a Senior Adviser in Six O’Clock’s Melbourne office. He provides communication counsel to a portfolio of business and government clients.

Nathan has built strong credentials in public policy, communication and consumer engagement, having led the government relations and corporate affairs functions for a national peak body in the health sector and served as a political adviser for a Federal Government minister.

Nathan began his career at a leading information technology developer after completing degrees in economics and international relations at Lancaster and Latrobe universities.

Jessica Brophy

Senior Adviser

Jess is a well-rounded communication professional with strong media relations skills and networks, and impressive digital and social media capability.

Jess cut her teeth working in highly-regarded PR and communication agencies before moving up the ranks and establishing a strong reputation as a strategic and diligent consultant.

Jess’ judgement on the appropriate communication mix has seen her deliver over the years a range of impressive, integrated programs for a host of clients in the FMCG, corporate, not-for- profit and government sectors. Jess appreciates the importance of precise execution in achieving great results.

 

 

Serrin Dewar

Brand Specialist

Serrin is a highly respected and experienced brand strategist and communication campaign consultant.

For two decades, Serrin has developed and led a long list of successful and award-winning marketing communication campaigns for FMCG, retail, education, utility and essential services clients.

At Six O’Clock, Serrin works as a brand specialist, helping ensure our  communication plans connect with business and brand strategy.

Her seasoned hand is forever refreshed by her creative flair and strategic nous, which complements the firm’s PR capability extremely well.

Hilary Longhurst

Senior Consultant

Hilary Longhurst is a creative, well-regarded and connected consultant with experience across corporate and government organisations and consumer campaigns.

Hailing from regional New South Wales, Hilary has worked with agencies in Sydney and Melbourne since graduating from Charles Sturt University in Bathurst in 2013.

At Six O’Clock, Hilary works on a national leadership communication program for a top-five ASX-listed company and contributes to Six O’Clock’s growing portfolio of corporate and government clients.

 

 

Penny Moodie

Adviser

Penny’s consulting experience spans the education, health communications, NGO and non-profit sectors.

In 2014, after finishing her Masters in Global Media Communications, Penny moved to Geneva, where she worked with global NGO, the Union for International Cancer Control.

Penny managed social media for a number of large campaigns and events including World Cancer Day and the WHO World Health Assembly.

At Six O’Clock, Penny is responsible for media relations, social media management and issues management for a range of the firms’ clients, specialising in the education and tech sectors.

 

Genevieve Mills

Adviser

Genevieve is a senior communications professional with more than a decade’s experience delivering results to clients in Australia, Asia and the UK.

Genevieve specialises in corporate profiling, media relations, issues management, investor communications, stakeholder engagement, business-to-business and internal communications.

Genevieve’s consultancy experience has seen her work for London-based financial public relations agency, Moorgate Group, Baldwin Boyle Shand in Singapore, and Haystac in Melbourne.

Jonathon Geddes

Senior Adviser

Jonathon’s work over many years in media relations, government and investor relations, and issues and crisis management, has seen him establish a strong reputation with clients and among the broader corporate communications industry.

He has held senior corporate affairs roles at National Australia Bank and AusNet Services, and he has advised a broad range of clients from industries including energy, finance, education, manufacturing, sport and property. Jonathon has also worked in the United Kingdom and Asia in international trade.

In navigating often highly regulated sectors to deliver clear but strategic direction, Jonathon’s helped a range of businesses enhance their brand reputation in line with their corporate objectives.
