Communication sector unites to aid bushfire affected communities

Six O’Clock  Advisory has joined an Australian public relations industry initiative that offers support to communities impacted by bushfires across the country.

The Bushfire Public Relations Alliance has formed with 21 local and global agencies signing up so far. Others are expected to join in the coming weeks and months.

Each agency – defining their own scope and available time – will work with the NSW Business Chamber, Visit Victoria and other tourism bodies to identify local areas that need communication advice and support.

Major media organisations including News Corp Australia and Bauer Media have also come on board to collaborate with BPRA activity.

Six O’Clock Advisory director Patrick O’Beirne said: “We’re pleased to be offering our communication and stakeholder engagement speciality to the nation’s bushfire recovery effort. Well planned and executed communication can have a lasting impact on prosperity in regional Australia, particularly if it can pinpoint key local socio-economic drivers. We’re in the process of developing a dedicated program for a region that we’ve turned our mind to over recent weeks and we look forward to joining with our peers to extend that effort across the country.”
