Media Training Services

Through Six O’Clock’s media and key message training and coaching, executives learn to:

  • Understand the role of the reporter and deal effectively with all forms of media interviews (television, radio, print and digital)
  • Ensure media interviews are a useful vehicle for conveying key messages
  • Present your organisation as a valuable and knowledgeable resource to the media
  • Identify and leverage potential news opportunities
  • Manage potentially difficult interviews relating to high profile or sensitive issues

Every training session is tailored to the specific needs of the client. This includes general training for those with little or no media experience as well as targeted, scenario-based coaching for leaders and executives who might be dealing with imminent issues.

Director Siobhan Koopmans leads the agency’s media training offering, drawing on her decades of experience with both Australian and international media.  Beginning her career as a segment producer for Channel Nine’s Today Show, Siobhan moved overseas to work for the national Irish broadcasting network RTE. She returned home to work for Melbourne’s number one talk radio station 3AW, producing the station’s drive program hosted by Derryn Hinch. She is also a former reporter and producer with Channel Seven’s Today Tonight program.

Siobhan’s broad experience has made her a highly sought-after media trainer working with senior executives spanning an array of corporate industry sectors and government agencies.

Six O’Clock regularly augments the training with current working journalists. Please note these journalists always sign confidentiality agreements prior to participation in a session.
